Poverty

With the current social changes, it is expected that there will be both the positive and the negative implications on the level of poverty. The most affected nations are the developing nations who will either see a reduction in the poverty level or the increase depending on the terms of trade with the most developed nations. The following discussion will focus on the effects of the social change of poverty in the next ten years.

Discussion
Poverty was so prevalent before the industrial revolution which saw the transformation from the traditional ways of production to the modern technologies of production. Economic growth as a result of industrial revolution has led to increase in the output levels. Modern industrial revolution will has been observed to have positive implications in that it will reduce poverty by increasing the level of production (Krugman, Paul and Robin, 2009). This means that people will have enough to eat and surplus for export which is good in helping alleviate their current living standards.

People living in the rural areas are very important since they supply the raw materials to the industries set in the urban areas and also food for the urban people. Currently the world is facing the worst and unpredictable whether conditions that are going to affect negatively the output production of agriculture. To curb this from happening, it has been urged that improvement of agricultural technology be taken to consideration to save the life of about three-quarter of population who live in poverty in rural areas (Krugman, Paul and Robin, 2009). Technology, as we see from the above discussion will therefore be the tool that will be used in the current situation to increase the productivity, which on the other hand will help in poverty alleviation not only for the rural but also for the whole nation as well.

Another argument that has risen is that there is a direct link between the level of education and the poverty levels. The current governments are working hard to see that the citizens are getting the necessary education to compete favorably in the job markets that are seeking for the educated due to new technology (Kerbo, 2006). The educated generation has better chances of securing employments not only in their countries but foreign countries as well. They later invest in their mother countries leading to growth and development at the same time creating employment for others. If this trend continues then it is likely that the level of poverty will reduce.

The two main methods that could be used to study the decrease in the poverty levels are the secondary analysis and the field research. In the secondary analysis of data, the researcher is interested in getting the information from already existing data (Diana, 2008). In our case here, we could get this kind of information from the national statistics reports which will show the population size and the living standards of the people. By comparing information that has been collected at intervals will help the researcher to know whether the level of poverty has been rising or dropping. Then the researcher looks at the factors that have led to the fall in the poverty level which in our case we shall consider improvement in technology and education.

The other method is the field research which is the study of a given phenomena that is taking place in its natural setting (Diana, 2008). For our case above, this will involve the researcher getting to the daily activities of the people that he is studying, do some observations and also interview several people. He should also seek to look for factors such as the level of technology and also education level and how it has helped alleviate poverty.

Conclusion
From our discussion above, it can be hoped that poverty will reduce if technological advancement and improvement in education systems are encouraged.
