Due to the different ways that information is perceived in the society mass media has developed different ways in which it transfers its information such as through magazines, television, newspapers, the internet, motion pictures and even the plays.

Although in the society there has been different categorization of the populations through gender based roles in terms what men and women can do in social events the media especially the information technology has emerged in the verge of breaking through these barriers and make these services available to all masses irrespective of societal stratifications, physical disability and the state of health and wellbeing, class in terms of economic inabilities and the like (Bull, Hoose  Weed, 2003). The media has played a major role in making leisure activities to all through adapting various events and aspects such as-

In the field of sports exposure of the games is being advanced to a large audience apart from those that have attended.  This means that those who cannot afford paying tickets can watch it in their homes. They are also able to read the results of the games in newspapers or through the internet. The media can bring about a positive impact or image to a particular team or sport. This has been done by many sports club that pay the media to report their teams positively. This protects the teams from receiving a negative impression from the public (Harris, 2005). Under the same influence, by watching the games through the media create the interest of the audience to learn how to love some sports participants in the world.

In big sports clubs where there is the best players performing, large companies may choose to follow and boot a players career in the benefit of promoting their products and advertise their companies as well. These companies act as sponsorship for the players and also the clubs in general, this improves the sports professionalism. In addition to that the media tries to create a link between the players and the audience. This is done by the media presenting the players outside the playing arenas. Here the promoters use these icons to advertise their products.

The new multimedia technologies that are interactive have increased the popularity of sports more so in the young generation that are basing a less significance on the printbased newspapers. The multi media technologies have brought about the issue of showing images, sounds and movies, an example is the youtube this has advanced the popularity of sport activity.

There has been an increase in the interactivity of the players and the audience through the new technologies. The audience can be able to air their views through the e-mail and are able to get a feedback on the addressed issues through the same site .Also there is the creation of forums and blogs that allow people to engage in different discussions, these usually feature sportsvids for the relevant discussions.

The youtube and other technology allow the fans to upload videos of games plated by most prominent icons of sport. Though the process involves a few challenges to the illiterate it is benefits man for it is very fast to use. It also allows the users to share videos and also it allows one to have an option of choosing from the multiple areas for them to get exactly what they want This increases popularity (Bull, Hoose  Weed, 2003).

The fans can choose from the sports lines available in these technologies to let them be able to know what is going on in their favorite sports, this is done by them sorting their news articles, videos and scores according to their choice and preference to the league. The fans can also be able to watch their most favorite videos through these advanced technologies.
