Experiential Model of Family Therapy
I deeply appreciate and have the same opinion with the principle of making the individual appreciate himself first before dealing with issues in the family. It is very beneficial not only to the entire family but to the individual himself. If a person does not know himself, it will be hard for him to understand and feel the needs of other people (without the exception of his family). I strongly believe in this philosophy that is why I will definitely incorporate it to my own unique brand of family therapy. The application of this technique will be very beneficial because the time that will be consumed in figuring out the root cause of family issues and struggles is shortened. Having the individuals involved know and express themselves, the basis of conflicts are made abundantly clear.
I do not think there is a technique in the Experiential Model of Family Therapy that I will not want to incorporate in my own brand of therapy. As aforementioned, I strongly believe in the principles and philosophies governing the practices and techniques of the family therapy model. A good combination of communication within the family and within oneself is significant to the development of a good family relationship. Hence, I will make the Experiential Model of Family Therapy an inspiration and pattern in formulating my own brand of therapy.
